The exhibition of Fred Williams’s Bass Strait Island

paintings provided the public unveiling of the two

significant Fred Williams landscape acquisitions

Potboil shoals, Flinders Island 1974–75 and Ti-tree swamp, Flinders Island 1974–75 at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) in July 2014. The exhibition features these two oil paintings and ten gouaches painted between 1974 and 1977 while the Williams family enjoyed holidays on several islands in Bass Strait.
