The rarity and expense of procuring an original copy of either volume of My Bush Friends has meant that very few readers have had the privilege of enjoying much of Louisa Meredith's published works.

The Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society successfully produced an affordable facsimile paperback edition of the two volume My Home in Tasmania in 2003. Members of the Society felt that a similar production could be applied to the rarer volumes reproduced in this book.
